Swanson's instructors are current and former professional players, major league scouts, and current and former college players and coaches. SPBI teaches the fundamentals of the game, allowing each player to get the most out of his or her abilities. From individual instruction to week-long camps, players can enjoy the opportunity to learn from some of the best in baseball.
Dave Swanson
Owner, General Manager
Swanson was drafted by the New York Mets in 1991 (9th round.) His 11-year professional career includes stops with the minor league affiliates of the N.Y. Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Boston Red Sox organizations. He was named Gatorade Regional Player of the Year for New England, and State Player of the Year for Connecticut the same year that Dmitri Young (Pacific Region) and Manny Ramirez (State of New York) were also named.
He worked and played with some of the best in baseball, including current Big League managers Ron Washington (Texas Rangers) and Clint Hurdle (Colorado Rockies), Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jason Isringhausen, former N.Y. Mets & Giants Major Leaguer Edgardo Alfonzo, Rockies 1B Todd Helton, and several others. Swanson also produces the K-ZONE for ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball."
“Swanson’s Baseball is a total program that not only teaches the physical aspects of hitting, pitching, and fielding but also teaches the mental aspects. Aspects such as pre-game preparation, how to think in different situations, and what the opposing athlete may be thinking as well. Swanson’s instructors are superb at what they do, and are excellent teachers of the game. I know that when I bring my son to a lesson, he will learn the fundamentals of the game, and the instructors will always take the time and talk with parents before or after a lesson. In my view, Swanson’s Baseball provides the best overall baseball program around.”
